Meningitis is nothing but the
inflammation of the protective membrane. This protective
membrane covers the central nervous system which is also known
as meninges. There can be lot of causes that may lead to the
meningitis. The prime causes are the various infectious agents.
Meningitis can also happen because of some physical injury,
some drugs or cancer as well.
Meningitis can be in both
intense and mild forms. Generally, meningitis is considered one
of the most serious problems of the human body. The mild
meningitis gets cured on its own while the advanced stage of
meningitis, there is inflammation in the spinal cord and the
brain. This can lead to a very serious neurological damage
including death of the human being and needs immediate medical
attention.

symptoms are headache and the stiffness of the neck. Both these

meningitis.
Meningitis comes with multiple
other symptoms. The person with meningitis finds it very
difficult to tolerate the bright light as well as the loud
nose. Meningitis in children is associated with delirium and
seizures. In case of infants, meningitis comes in the form of
soft spots. In case of meningitis, the patient undergoes
rigidity in the spine. He experiences some restriction in the
movement of hips and knees.
The prime cause of meningitis
is the microorganisms. These microorganisms travel in the blood
and the cerebrospinal fluid. Cancer and drugs are some of the
non infectious causes of meningitis. Viral is one of the prime
causes of meningitis which runs for a few days. The patients
who have several immune deficiencies like AIDS are the prime
targets of bacterial meningitis. This could be fatal and the
prime causes of this can be poor state of nutrition and
alcoholism.
